Despite the failure to launch her first leading-role drama “Birdie Buddy“, After School’s UEE revealed her desire to continue pursuing acting.

On April 27th, UEE stated in an interview, “I want to continue acting” – revealing an extraordinary affection and passion for acting.

For those readers who may have not known, UEE was cast for a drama called “Birdie Buddy”, which was actually based off of Korea’s first golf cartoon, called Birdie” and was modeled after successful professional Korean golfers such as Se Ri ParkMichelle WieY.E. Yang, Anthony Kim and others. It was planned to air through MBC, but those plans eventually fell through resulting in UEE to experience much heartache.

UEE stated, “I’m disappointed that ‘Birdie Buddy’ hasn’t aired on television yet, but if the opportunity arises, I would like to continue acting.”

She also revealed that she felt the power of Korean dramas when she visited Japan. She stated, “There was a time when I went to Japan with the After School members for a shooting. The many Japanese students in uniform came up to me saying, ‘UEE-san, we recognize you from ‘You’re Beautiful‘. It was really interesting.”

Right before they kick their official comeback this month, the sexy ladies of After School took part in a unique “Elle Girl” photoshoot.

Utilizing funky retro pieces, the girls were asked to express the musical genres of disco, swing, and punk rock with their charms. Known for their model-like bodies, the task was an easy feat for the girls.

In their accompanying interview, UEE spoke a bit about her image by stating, “I always thought I was shy, but I’m quite friendly with people I meet for the first time.

On teamwork, the members all agreed that they were “the closest out of all of the girl groups.”

Nana continued, “People seem to think that we always fight, but there isn’t another girl group that’s as close as we are. Maybe it’s because of the large age gap that makes people think the unnis are dominant, but everyone is really nice and caring.”

Commenting on their upcoming return, Raina concluded, “We gave our image a change in order to exude a friendlier feel to our friends. Performance-wise, we have a secret weapon to keep our original After School color, so please look forward to it.”

Their full photoshoot can be seen through the May edition of “Elle Girl”.

On April 18th, a topic on an online community titled “Comparing girl groups’ nation” has garnered considerable attention. Inside the topic are pictures of SNSD, T-ara and other girl groups with a country’s flag next to them in relation to their situation.

This netizen started out by putting SNSD with the American flag, the reason being “the strongest in the world right now.” He continued to mention that “KARA could have rivaled SNSD at one point, but they had internal issues.” As a result, KARA is placed next to a picture of the Russian flag, since at one time America and Russia had the most power in the world.

Since Wonder Girls have expanded into oversea nations such as America, this netizen placed them next to a flag of the United Kingdom because it is “a country unbeaten by the ocean,” refering to Britain’s past oversea expansions and spreading english (hook song) to the world.

4minute is known for their sexy performances, and the group is placed next to Brazil for the famous Samba dance.

Due to problems in the past, T-ara has been placed next to the Japanese flag because Japan’s “problems in the past has not been acknowledged,” which drew laughter among netizens.

2NE1 is compared to China because “China is a developing nation that can rival America [SNSD].”

f(x) is compared to Canada because it is still economically dependant on America, miss A is compared to Spain because they are passionate and have a mix of different races, Brown Eyed Girls compared to France who has experienced the revolution at home and abroad (internally and externally) while SECRET is compared to Italy due to the big gap between rich (big boobs) and poor (small boobs).

Finally After School is next to the Indian flag because “India has the the greatest population and economical growth.”

After reading the descriptions, other netizens commented, “The person who made this is very smart”, and “Looking past the jokes, the comparisons are appropriate.”
